Around two hours after the interview its President, Aleksandar Dastevski, had with Sitel, the State Election Commission presented more information about the vote that day.
At 31 polling stations abroad, 2,569 diaspora members voted.
“Six polling stations where the vote will last until 7 pm according to the time zone where the vote is being organised are still open. As of 7 pm, based on the information we’ve been getting from election boards, there have been 891 voters, that is, 35%,” the SEC said, adding that the turnout didn’t include six polling stations where the vote was still underway.
1,380 out of 2,147 prisoners voted, that is, 64%. The SEC, too, said two internally displaced persons had voted.
When it comes to persons who are part of seven centres for extra-familial care, turnout was 83%, that is, 208 people voted. As the SEC added, 6,935 sick and frail persons for voting at home.
“So far, according to information from municipal election commissions 6,543 of them, that is, 94%, have voted,” it was pointed out.
Earlier, in an interview with the central newscast on Sitel, the President of the SEC, Aleksandar Dastevski, said the election process that day had been peaceful.
