Conference on Balkan Migration Route

There is no risk from reactivation of the so called Balkan migration route. This was the conclusion from the Conference on migrants and refugees ‘Responsibilities and answers, held in the organisation of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). “At the moment a shift in the migrant route can be noted with increased number of refugees and migrant in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” says Peter Van der Auweraert, IOM Coordinator. Argentina Szabados, regional IOM Director underlined that the migration is phenomenon that cannot be anticipated so the need of setting up system for dealing with possible migrant surges remains.
