On the first day of his visit to Brussels, President Stevo Pendarovski held a meeting with Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi. The President expressed gratitude for the 119,000 Pfizer vaccines, which will arrive in Macedonia as part of the deal for 651,000 doses for the Western Balkans. Opinions and information was exchanged also over both Skopje’s integration road and the Bulgaria issue. Pendarovski and Varhelyi underlined the importance of the Intergovernmental Conference being held soon, as well as of a formal start of EU membership negotiations. In the frames of his visit, Pendarovski also met, among others, Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the Commission, David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament, and MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk.
