Deputy PM Dimitrov Holds New Meetings in Germany

On the second day of his visit to Germany, Deputy PM for European Affairs Nikola Dimitriev continued the talks in the German Foreign Ministry. They focused mainly on the dynamism of adoption of the negotiating framework. Dimitrov met Susanne Schuetz, Director for South-Eastern Europe, Turkey, and EFTA States, and Sabine Stoehr, Plenipotentiary for EU Policies. Among the focal points of the meeting was an exchange of opinions on the joint goal: opening membership negotiations this year, the European Affairs Secretariat said. Later that day, Dimitrov also met Minister for Europe Michael Roth. Germany expects the Intergovernmental Conference to be held and negotiations to be held during its Presidency, according to Roth. The German politician added that membership talks should start as soon as possible.
