Health Ministry Attempts to Procure Vaccines from Chinese Companies

On Tuesday, Health Minister Venko Filipce revealed that the country is attempting to negotiate with Chinese pharmaceutical companies for the procurement of vaccines in view of the uncertainty surrounding the time of arrival of the first Pfizer vaccines from the COVAX system. Minister Filipce stated that the Ministry remains dedicated to work through all three mechanisms for vaccine procurement in order for the vaccination in the country to be conducted without being interrupted. The Health Ministry informed that Monday there were 444 new registered COVID-19 cases out of 2.518 tested, in the country. During the same period 21 persons infected with the virus passed away. According to the Interior Ministry, 431 people were fined for not wearing face masks the same period. The total number of diagnosed cases in the country since the beginning of the epidemic is 91,161, the number of recovered patients is 79,621, the number of deaths is 2,812, and the number of active cases is 8,728.
