CMC: Several Forest Fires Still Active

According to the latest information from the Crisis Management Centre (CMC) several forest fires remain active on the territory of the country. “The fire near the village of Budinarci in the Berovo region was finally put under control, while the ones in the Delcevo region near the villages of Nov Istvenik and Pasjak are localised and under control. The fires in the area of Stip are also under control, while teams of firefighters and soldiers are trying to put under control the fire near the village of Raovic. In the Skopje region, the Romanian aircraft C-27 intervened over the fire near Saraj. Interventions were also made against fires that started near the oil factory OKTA, and another one in the village of Pobozje. All our capacities are on terrain, helped by the firefighting teams from Austria, Slovenia and Bulgaria,” they informed from CMC. In meantime, Defence Minister Radmila Sekerinska announced that Montenegro will send to the country a helicopter to assist interventions over the fires from air. In Pehcevo, one of the Austrian firefighters got injured during the actions, and was rushed to the Mother Teresa Clinic Centre, but doctors inform that he is in a stable condition, with injuries on his back.
