The Government has received 15 days to prepare the text of the constitutional amendments.
Alliance for Albanians and Alternative said in the frames of Tuesday’s session of the Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Affairs that they were not satisfied with the non-acceptance of their amendments in the initiative for the changes. BESA MP Fadil Zendeli said his party would support the changes. However, he added that though BESA was not against inclusion of Bulgarians in the Constitution, the debate could cause divisions in society.
Tuesday also saw MP Enes Ibrahim, member of the Party of Movement of Turks, which is part of the ruling coalition, say he was against the constitutional changes. According to him, the second change, which concerns the composition of the Inter-Community Relations Committee, is unconstitutional.
