Debate on Autocephaly, Moral Values, and Other Topics Held

How to achieve full autocephaly of the Ohrid Archdiocese and keep believers, the fall of moral values, and religion’s influence on modern courses were among the topics debated by professors and Archdiocese members at a debate at the Faculty of Philosophy on Tuesday.

Marjan Gjurovski, Professor at the Faculty, said Russian influence had infiltrated the Archdiocese, adding that there might be serious consequences.

“When NATO members tell you that you have collaborators domestically, that they walk around your Archdiocese, you should put your thinking cap on,” he added.

Gjurovski expressed major concern. “Those who would hold liturgies at Macedonian churches are today banned in and declared personae non gratae by almost all NATO members. From here, contacts with them are made at secret meetings. I express major concern. That poses a big security risk. Perhaps not right away, but we will have the consequences in the long run,” Gjurovski noted.

Father Mitevski stated that the people should listen to the official stand of the Archdiocese.
