SDSM: ‘False Promises’ in VMRO-DPMNE’s Election Programme

SDSM has levelled fierce criticism at VMRO-DPMNE’s election programme. At a press-conference on Monday, SDSM MP Martin Kostovski said the capital of Skopje and over 40 municipalities run by mayors from VMRO-DPMNE best exemplified its false promises.

“They would promise modern municipalities, free transport, eco-friendly buses, capital projects, sports halls, parks, schools, streets, water supply systems. However, it’s been 2.5 years and [VMRO-]DPMNE hasn’t implemented anything. [VMRO-]DPMNE’s mayors have implemented zero projects. Yet, they have created chaos and abandoned and unclean cities, with PEs stuck in debts, municipalities without any development. That is the case this time, too, with the new false promises,” he stated.

In response, VMRO-DPMNE said that citizens knew that when it made promises, it delivered on them.

“The Miladinovci-Stip and Smokvica-Demir Kapija motorways prove that. The new express roads, such as Veles-Stip and Stip-Radovis, but also the Stip-Kocani one, projected and started during VMRO-DPMNE’s rule, are proof of the work that will come after 8 May,” Hristijan Mickoski’s party pointed out.
