Thimonier: Country should Hold successful Polls and Pass anti-Corruption laws

According to French Ambassador Christian Thimonier, it’s now up to European Union leaders to discuss a change of the rules of the game and up to the country to fulfil certain things. Asked on Thursday whether his country would change its stand on enlargement before the next Summit in the Croatian capital of Zagreb, the Ambassador said the country should hold successful elections and adopt laws on fighting corruption. As he added, adopting laws will be a very strong signal. Thimonier is critical of there being too many election processes in the country. “We primarily have work on our part to put our house in order, whereas you should point your view towards the European horizon which is yours, but work should be done and sleeves should be rolled up,” the Ambassador stated.
