Macedonia is one step closer to full-fledged NATO membership, after France ratified the NATO accession protocol, and only Spain remains. The French Ambassador in Macedonia, Christian Thimonier congratulated the country on the ratification and expects that Macedonia will quickly start to contribute toward world security. The French ratification was greeted by the US Ambassador in the country, who reminded that the membership is accompanied with serious obligations. During the French Parliamentary session, it was also stated that the European perspective of the country is not jeopardized. Secretary of State for European Issues, Amélie de Montchalin once more explained the French standpoint on the EU enlargement, stating that the country’s march toward EU is not I question.
