Today, the President of the Republic of Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski, received Laima Andrikiene, Head of the OSCE / ODIHR Special Election Assessment Mission for the Early Parliamentary Elections scheduled for 15 July 2020. At the meeting, President Pendarovski was introduced to the planned activities of the mission, composed of nine experts, in order to monitor the election process. Thanking for the rapid deployment of the assessment mission, President Pendarovski reaffirmed his expectation that the elections be conducted according to the highest standards and criteria, as befits a NATO member state and a candidate country for EU membership. At the meeting, he also expressed support for the work of the mission and expressed confidence that their engagement will contribute to a successful election process, which due to the COVID-19 pandemic will take place in specific conditions.
