Plenkovic: EU-Macedonia Intergovernmental Conference by End of Year

Croatia strongly supports Macedonia as a candidate country for EU membership and expects an intergovernmental conference to be held by the end of the year to open negotiations, said Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic at Tuesday’s meeting with Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani in Zagreb. According to Plenkovic, Croatia is ready to continue assisting the country in reforms and meeting the necessary conditions for membership in the Union. The Croatian Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the EC Report published earlier this month, which noted that the country has made steady progress. At the meeting the good economic cooperation between the two countries was noted and it was announced that a business forum will be held soon to further stimulate economic relations.
