PM Zaev, President Pendarovski Condemn Riot in Washington D.C.

PM Zoran Zaev reacted via Twitter to the riots that occurred on 6 April 2021 in front of and inside the building of the US Congress on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. in the US, caused by a group of supporters of US President Donald Trump who oppose the election of new President Joe Biden. “Violence must be condemned. We hope and we believe that democracy will prevail. It is the only way to continue forward,” PM Zaev wrote on Twitter. Reaction also came from President Stevo Pendarovski on Facebook. “Violence cannot be justification for challenging democracy. The behaviour of individuals will not undermine the trust in institutions. Condolences and solidarity with the American citizens,” Pendarovski wrote. The riot was also condemned by VMRO-DPMNE and DUI.
