Bulgarian Reactions to PM Zaev’s North Atlantic Council Address

MEP and member of Borissov’s party, Andrey Kovatchev, asked on Facebook what compromise the Macedonian Prime Minister is hoping for with accusations that Bulgaria has an anachronistic position, contrary to international law. “What negotiations and compromises do you hope for, Mr. Zaev, with so many accusations, lies and hatred towards Bulgaria? How are you different from your colleague and undisputed champion in the hatred of Bulgaria, Mr. Mickoski,” he writes. For a possible compromise between the two countries for next year, as he says in an interview with TV Europe, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Daniel Mitov, believes that this requires a clear diplomatic step on key issues on the Macedonian side in the World Organization. “Skopje should not only declare through its Prime Minister that it has no territorial and minority claims to Bulgaria, but also make a diplomatic demarche in that direction. Where? For example, at the UN,” said Mitov.
