Detention for Six Arrested in Police Action Near Prilep

The Skopje Criminal Court has determined 30 days detention for the six suspects for marijuana smuggling, arrested in Friday’s police action in Prilep, the court confirmed for Kanal 5. The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption says that the detention measure for all suspects was requested due to the danger of escape, influencing witnesses and repeating the crime. They say that the investigation is being actively worked on and for now it is too early to answer whether there will be expansion. Prilep Police Commander Kire Spirkoski also ends up arrested, as part of the drug smuggling group. The opposition VMRO-DPMNE claimed that one of those detained in the action is Aleksandar Usilkovski, personal driver of Trajce Zaev, cousin of Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, but also that the shipment of marijuana left the company Medika 420 from Bitola, which according to the party is directly related with the Zaev family. Trajce Zaev denied both accusations that either his companies nor any of the employees are involved in drug trafficking.
