Osmani: Media, not Ahmeti, Saying There are Negotiations on Symbols

Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani denies that the leader of his party, DUI’s Ali Ahmeti, and PM Zoran Zaev are negotiating on a change of the country’s coat of arms, flag, and anthem. As he explains, it is the media, not Ahmeti, that are saying there are negotiations. According to Osmani, it’s about unserious reporting of a statement made 20 years ago. The Minister believes that the anthem issue is not an inclusive element in the country, something which can be felt at sports matches, when everything unites people, except the anthem because a big part of the citizens do not see themselves in it, are not mentioned, “whereas we build a multi-ethnic society about which everybody envies us”.
