Bekteshi Says He’s ‘Albanian’ After Being Referred to as ‘Macedonian Minister’

During the visit to Albania, Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi was referred to as a “Macedonian minister” by a journalist. “Sorry, I am a Minister from North Macedonia, I am not a Macedonian, I am an Albanian,” he said. Previously, only Albanian flags had been used during the welcome ceremony. Mickoski criticised Bekteshi over the matter, saying it was an unfriendly act. Kanal 5 has tried to contact Betkeshi to ask him why he had to put an equals sign between the adjective “Macedonian” and ethnic affiliation. However, there has been so far no answer. The Government hasn’t expressed a stand either.
