Kovacevski Urges All MPs to Support Integration Process

PM Dimitar Kovacevski urged, as he said on Friday, all MPs to be up to the task and support the integration process. He called for support for the constitutional changes that should be made after the end of the screening process. Through them, the Bulgarian and other communities should be part of the Preamble. According to the PM, EU membership has been a strategic goal since the independence and there is no other alternative. So far, VMRO-DPMNE has warned several times that under such circumstances, there is no support for the changes. Opposition leader Hristijan Mickoski said recently a session should be scheduled right away, adding that early elections should be organised immediately if the government didn’t have 80 votes. In the meantime, the negotiating teams with the EU are already ready to meet officially in the middle of September the European negotiators in Brussels. According to the Government’s assessments, the screening will last 14-16 months.
