At Thursday’s session of the Committee on Mandatory-Immunity Issues, the Chairperson of the body, Pavle Bogoevski, said he would resign as MP. As he added, he will activate the resignation after former PM Nikola Gruevski’s MP mandate is revoked at a plenary session. Bogoevski added he would reschedule the session of the Committee at which Gruevski’s mandate was supposed to be on the agenda. “The vote to take away MP Nikola Gruevski’s mandate will be my last vote as MP,” he stressed. According to Bogoevski, his procurement of cannabis oil is an illegal act. “I call on the prosecution organs to fully investigate the case in relation to my responsibility and those that were recording illegally,” the MP noted. Both PM Zoran Zaev and DUI’s Artan Grubi welcomed Bogoevski’s decision to resign. “This is a brave decision,” the latter said. SDSM, too, positively assessed the move. On the other hand, Hristijan Mickoski’s party considers that Bogoevski’s resignation doesn’t “hide the fact that he and his mentor, Zaev, are biggest criminals”.
