Obligations related to the Jean Monnet Dialogue is the explanation used by part of political parties that didn’t meet the deadline, which expired at noon on Saturday, for filing amendments to the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) law. For now, it hasn’t been revealed which parties failed to do so. According to Telma TV, the deadline has been moved to Sunday night, while the new meeting of the working groups, announced for Monday, will be held. If parties submit amendments and Monday’s meeting sees approximation of the text, it will be sent to the Government for adoption so that it enters a procedure in Parliament. According to Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi, once the document is submitted to the legislative home, the vote will take place right away. The only way for it to be adopted by 11 February is with a so-called European flag and in a shortened procedure. 80 votes will be needed. VMRO-DPMNE has a dilemma about which text of a draft law to which it should submit amendments. However, if the meeting is held on Monday, its representatives will participate in it. Friday’s meeting in which all parties represented in Parliament participated saw no progress. It was held after the two-day public debate and which party representatives and experts had presented their views on the matter.
