Sassoli: Skopje and Tirana Blockade Shows that EU Needs Reforms

The European Parliament President, David Sassoli, while answering a journalist’s mentioned the Macedonian and Albanian blockade at the European Council as an example of the necessity of procedure change in the EU. The European Parliament is in the process of considering reforms in several areas in the EU decision prosecco, such as the veto, the consultations with the national parliaments, in order to secure more functional European Union, according to the EP Head. “You saw what happened at the last Council, Parliament, Commission, Presidency where 25 out of 28 members said “yes” for start of negotiations with Macedonia and Albania, and the decision was blocked by three countries, because of which I think it’s time for the rules to be reviewed,” stated Sassoli.
