Erasmus+ Case: OLAF Requests around 2.3 Million Euros to Be Returned

The European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) has asked for North Macedonia to return 2,276,212 euros abused through Erasmus+ in the 2016-2018 period.

The head of the National Agency for European Educational Programmes and Mobility, Marko Gjorgievski, said on Thursday that the letter containing the final decision on the amount had arrived from the Education, Youth, Sport and Culture Directorate-General.

According to him, the case is in the hands of the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organised Crime and Corruption. However, citing the pre-investigative procedure, he declined to reveal more details.

According to the Lokalno portal, the matter concerns a grant approved by the then-Agency head, Lidija Dimova, to, allegedly, a hairdressing salon, V.E.Z. Trejd, owned by Zoran Zlatkovski.
