PM Zaev meets Counterpart Dancila in Romania

Within the frameworks of his official visit to Romania, PM Zoran Zaev held a meeting with his counterpart, Vlorica Dancila. “The procedures to ratify the Republic of North Macedonia’s NATO Accession Protocol, which has been voted through at the Chamber of Deputies, have started in Romania” the host said. According to her, what’s expected is for that process to be swiftly completed and for the country to become the 30th NATO member.  Dancila also reaffirmed the position on continuation of EU enlargement on the basis of individual merits for countries from the Western Balkans. The Romanian PM expects June to see the EU enlargement policies confirmed. PM Zaev extended gratitude for both the ratification at the Chamber of Deputies and the support on the road to NATO integration. “I would like to express gratitude for the support on the Republic of North Macedonia’s European path, too” he noted. According to Zaev, the Macedonian Government and citizens expect the decision to start EU negotiations to be confirmed in June.
