Filipce: Number of New COVID-19 Patients Slowly Decreasing

Health Minister Venko Filipce said that the number of new patients with COVID-19 is gradually decreasing in the past few days. “The number of new confirmed cases is dropping, as well as the number of patients in hospital care with COVID-19. Several of the clinics that we transformed into COVID centres are now back to normal. This means that the momentum of the third wave of infection is losing force and settling down,” Filipce said. In meantime, the Infectious Disease Committee proposed the government to reduce the curfew to 5 hours only, from 00:00 am to 05:00 am, prolongation of the working hours of hospitality businesses to 11:30 pm, and allowing organisation of events outdoors but with limited number of people. If adopted, these measures will enter into force on 18 May.
