Skopje and Brussels to Hold 1st Intergovernmental Conference on Tuesday

Official Skopje prepares for the first intergovernmental conference with official Brussels on Tuesday, which will mark the start of the EU accession process for North Macedonia. A governmental delegation headed by Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski will travel to Brussels on Tuesday, where Kovacevski will read the opening statement in Macedonian language, which will mark the official start of the screening process for North Macedonia. The opening of the chapters from the negotiations is however conditioned with the constitutional changes, i.e. registration of the Bulgarian minority in the Constitution of North Macedonia, demanded by official Sofia, contained in the official protocol from the intergovernmental commission between North Macedonia and Bulgaria, which was signed last Sunday by FM Bujar Osmani and his Bulgarian counterpart Teodora Genchovska.
