Greek Opposition Leader Accuses Authorities of Opening NATO Door to Skopje

New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis has said Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Defence Minister Panos Kammenos open Wednesday the door for Skopje’s integration in NATO after the recent recognition of the Macedonian nationality and language in Prespa. “Today in Brussels, Tsipras and Kammenos open the NATO door to the neighbouring country of Skopje. In this way, they hand over the strongest negotiating weapon that Greece has held as a national line over the past 27 years,” said Mitsotakis. He also accused them of recognizing “the alleged Macedonian nationality and language despite the absolute opposition by the citizens.”
