The Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) at the Council of Europe has issued the latest report about Macedonia, noting that Macedonia has made no significant progress when it comes to this field. “Macedonian authorities should implement reforms and start necessary processes determined with the recommendations issued more than four years ago. No meaningful progress was made in the field of declarations of assets and interests, where a more balanced and political interference-free approach is more than necessary, especially after the fact that some members of the State Commissions for Prevention of Corruption where themselves involved in corruption scandals. Besides this, no recommendations have been implemented whatsoever about the elimination of corruption among MPs,” writes the GRECO report.
