According to the data of the Health Ministry, 86 new cases of COVID-19 were registered during the past weekend (26 on Friday, 41 on Saturday and 19 on Sunday), 4 patients died as a result of COVID-19 complications (2 on Friday and 2 on Saturday), while 199 are registered as cured after the last two control tests ran on them turned negative for COVID-19 (36 on Friday, 37 on Saturday and 126 on Sunday). At the moment, the total number of cases of COVID-19 in Macedonia is 1,386, of which 61 died and 500 were cured. By cities, 471 cases were registered in Skopje, 371 in Kumanovo, 141 in Prilep, 73 in Tetovo, 66 in Veles, 64 in Struga, 51 in Debar, 34 in Stip, 28 in Kocani, 19 in Bitola, 15 in Ohrid and in Gostivar, 5 in Kriva Palanka and Kavadarci, 4 in Radovis, Gevgelija, and Negotino, 3 in Krusevo, 2 in Strumica, Vinica, Probistip, Kicevo and Makedonski Brod, and 1 in Pehcevo, Demir Hisar and Valandovo. At the moment, 100 patients with COVID-19 are hospitalised at clinics around the country, and of them 12 are connected to mechanical ventilators. Health Minister Venko Filipce said at an online press conference that despite all warnings, many of the citizens still do not respect the measures for protection from the coronavirus, which is why the Health Ministry would demand the government to change the regulations and introduce fines instead of warnings for citizens who do not respect the measures starting with Monday 27 April.
