Bulgarian MFA Reacts to Kovacevski’s Statements

It is unacceptable to use concern for the basic rights of a certain community as an excuse for unfounded attacks on a member state of the European Union, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacts after Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski’s address to the Security Council. “Kovacevski’s statement once again clearly shows the true attitude of Skopje towards the basic values of the EU and the rejection of the right to react to the existing shortcomings,” the ministry points out. They say that any analogy with the suffering of the Ukrainian people in Russia’s current unjustified war is cynical and unacceptable. The statement states that the suggestion that if North Macedonia does not continue the path of negotiations for entry into the European Union, it will have a negative impact on Albania is particularly worrying in Kovacevski’s statement.
