In the last 24 hours, 186 new COVID-19 cases have been registered, the Health Ministry said on Thursday. It was added that the same period had seen 1,674 new tests, 85 new cured patients, and seven new deaths. The same day, the Interior Ministry said 485 persons had been fined for not wearing face masks. Among the new coronavirus cases are a child from a kindergarten in Strumica and a man from Stip who has contracted it a second time. Criticism of the Government’s decision to terminate the external parental leave measure continued. Mothers affected by the decision and those that have children up to six years of age staged a protest. In their view, the measure should last until the end of the year. So far, the petition has been signed by 3,325 mothers. According to the Government, however, complete care and enough spots for children in kindergartens have been secured, so the only logical step is for parents to return to their jobs.
