Kovacevski, Vucic and Rama to Go to Brussels for EU-Western Balkans Summit

Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski will attend the EU Summit in Brussels after all. He confirmed that together with the other two leaders of the Open Balkans, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, had decided to attend the EU-Western Balkans summit on 23^rd and 24^th June. “We have decided that we should, before the friendly countries, which are committed to the economic and political progress of the region and which are committed to rapid and decisive European integration processes, reiterate our commitment to the European path throughout the Western Balkans. If progress is not made in the European integration process, it will be a serious problem and a blow to the EU credibility in the Balkans,” Kovacevski wrote on social media. The office of Serbian President Vucic also announced that the decision to participate and the joint approach at the summit in Brussels is another step in the fight for the progress of the countries. The leaders of the six countries in the region have been invited to a meeting with the leaders of the European Council, which is to take place before the start of the regular June summit of the Union, where the enlargement will be discussed.
