PPO initiates Pre-investigative procedure against President Ivanov

The Public Prosecution Office (PPO) has launched a pre-investigative procedure against the President of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov. As PPO informs, the pre-investigative procedure follows two anonymous reports, and focuses on Ivanov’s failure to sign the Law on Languages and the Law on Adoption of the Prespa Agreement. PPO has already requested all necessary information from the Parliament of Macedonia and the Presidential Office. In several occasions, President Ivanov stated that he does not support either of these laws, and refuses to sign them, because according to him they jeopardise the national interests of Macedonia.
