VMRO-DPMNE Central Committee Session: Referendum Rejected

VMRO-DPMNE’s Central Committee does not recognise the referendum result, assessing it as fabrication wherefore on Friday the party will lodge criminal charges with the Prosecutor’s Office against 200 people, presidents, deputies and members of election boards in Struga, Centar Zhupa, Kicevo, Zhelino, Bogovinje, Plasnica and Saraj. As the vice president of the party Aleksandar Nikolovski stated following the session, VMRO-DPMNE does not lead a battle for power and elections but for preserving the name of Macedonia. “We are happy with the result from the referendum with which the constitutional name has been kept. We call on citizens to unite for protection of national interests and ending the careers of the last politicians from the transition that are taking Macedonia back,” appealed Nikolovski. He accused the ruling party of pressures and abuse of over 50,000 votes.
