PM Zoran Zaev and DM Radmila Sekerinska met with Stefan Lofven, Swedish PM in Stockholm on Friday, where Lofven expressed support for North Macedonia’s European integrations. The foreign PM understands that the country has performed visible progress in reforms in the part of judiciary, battle against corruption, good neighbourly relations and that needs to be considered in the Euro-integration decision. According to the Government’s press-release, PM Zaev and DM Sekerinska thanked the continued support of the democratic and all other key political processes for the progress of the Republic of North Macedonia. “We continue to work on the reforms with the standpoint that there is no other alternative than the European perspective. We are expecting to finalize the NATO integration. The country, as well as the Western Balkans and Europe, needs stability, prosperity and development. Those are processes I which Sweden provides leading contribution for which we are grateful,” stated PM Zaev at the meeting with the Swedish PM, Lofven. PM Zaev also met US Ambassador to Greece, Geoffrey Pyatt in the margins of the fourth Thessaloniki Summit, after which the US Ambassador wrote on his Twitter profile that they had an excellent discussion on the strong US support for Macedonia’s integrations into EU and NATO and the important role Greece has in this Euro-Atlantic future through increased cooperation in the defence and security, energy, trade and investments.
