Zbogar Urges Politicians to Cooperate in Reform Processes

Macedonia should focus on the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) law, the Electoral Code, and democratic parliamentary elections. This message was sent on Monday from the EU Ambassador, Samuel Zbogar, to politicians in Macedonia. He urged party leaders to cooperate in the field of reform processes and reduce pre-election tensions. Enlargement will be high on the agenda, according to Croatian Ambassador Nives Tiganj. She stated that the Western Balkans would be a priority of her country’s EU Presidency. However, VMRO-DPMNE is sceptical, considering the internal turmoil in the EU. The party considers that the ruling coalition members shouldn’t raise the citizens’ hope. On the other hand, Deputy PM for European Affairs Bujar Osmani believes that the country is ready to start negotiations. He is convinced that there will be positive results in the spring.
