Judicial Council Yet to Decide About Measures against Supreme Court’s Ademi

The Judicial Council concluded on Friday 29 December 2023 the discussion over the disciplinary procedures initiated against Supreme Court President Besa Ademi.

The Judicial Council is to prepare a report on this case in the following three days, after which they will decide whether to initiate measures against Ademi, who is under scrutiny of the Council over her absences from at least 20 sessions of the Council.

According to Ademi and to her lawyer, the motives are political, related to her statements that the judiciary in the country is under great political pressure.

The case against Ademi is imitated by Judicial Council Member Milazim Mustafa, who demands she be dismissed from the top position at the Supreme Court, and who, during the session, even threatened Ademi that she will end up in jail, and demanded her to answer the questions addressed to her by the Council with yes or no only.
