On Wednesday, the reform laws from the field of security that are of importance to Macedonia’s road to EU and NATO integration were adopted by Parliament, with a two-thirds majority. The adopted package of laws in the security sector is expected to put an end the concentration of power of the secret policy and create an efficient depoliticised service in function of protection of the country, as well as citizens’ rights and freedoms. The adoption was welcomed by both the US Embassy in Skopje and the EU Delegation to Macedonia. Within the frameworks of the session, Parliament also made a decision to schedule a public competition to select associations from the field of human rights, police law and judiciary.
