VMRO-DPMNE Leader Mickoski Holds Meeting with President Pendarovski

VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said after a meeting with President Stevo Pendarovski that they reached agreement over 27 April Parliament Incidents case. “We reached an agreement with the President that convicts from the 27 April Parliament Incidents case should require a retrial, and that politicians should keep their hands off that new judicial process. We do not demand amnesty, only justice and righteous trial, because we believe that the indictment for terrorism against the people that are currently imprisoned is too harsh,” Mickoski said after the meeting. President Pendarovski said that he is not advocating reopening of the process for the 27 April Parliament Incidents case, but added that it is the legal duty of the court to reopen the case if the defence has come up with new credible evidence that was previously not part of the process. “I reiterated my positions concerning the incidents in the Parliament on 27 April 2017: the people in question are in prison because they committed criminal acts, they got the sentences they deserved and there is no compromise over that,” Pendarovski said.
