Constitutionality of Prespa Agreement not to Be Assessed

The Constitutional Court has unanimously decided not to launch a procedure to assess the constitutionality in the Prespa Agreement case. The initiative to assess the constitutionality of the decree promulgating the Law was rejected as well.

The Law on Ratification of the Agreement is in accordance with the Constitution, Court President Dobrila Kacarska said on Thursday, adding that the decree didn’t contain legal norms.

The case had been formed as a result of initiatives by World Macedonian Congress President Todor Petrov and another five initiators. Justices, according to Petrov, dealt more with the competences of the President instead of with what they should consider as disputed.
